Raleigh sits in the Piedmont, where red clay soil, slow drainage, and steep slopes make fencing a real engineering challenge. Our crews have been installing and repairing fences across Raleigh and the surrounding area since 2013, working with the constraints that come with older neighborhoods inside the Beltline, post-war ranch blocks, and the newer HOA subdivisions spreading north.
When a summer thunderstorm takes down a fence line, when a gate drags on wet clay, or when you need a privacy fence that actually stays plumb on a sloped lot in 27609, you call Raleigh Fence Contractors. We know the local codes, we understand what works here, and we do the work ourselves with crews you'll see on the job from start to finish.
Fencing and Gates for Raleigh (27609)
Raleigh's housing stock is all over the map. You've got tight in-town lots where access is tight and neighbors are close, ranch blocks with wider setbacks and straighter lines, and master-planned communities where HOA architectural standards govern everything from fence height to post spacing to color. The red clay drains slowly, which means posts sit wet after heavy rain and untreated wood fails at the ground line faster than it should. Sloped lots are everywhere, which makes the choice between racked installation (angled boards following the slope) and stepped installation (horizontal rails with vertical boards dropping in steps) a real decision on most jobs, not an exception.
We've been serving Raleigh homeowners and property managers since 2013. We work with wood and vinyl privacy fencing, chain link, ornamental metal, gates, and automatic driveway systems. We repair storm-damaged fences, replace rotted posts set in concrete, install pool barriers to code, and handle fence removal and replacement. Our crews are fully insured, and for projects at or above $40,000 a licensed general contractor is required on the job. We're members of the American Fence Association, and we work from your existing survey, installing on the property line you identify.

How a Fence Job Works in Raleigh
You call us at (919) 873-3812 or reach out online. We schedule a free on-site assessment, walk the fence line with you, listen to what you need, and talk through the options. We look at access (some Raleigh lots are tight), we check for utility lines (North Carolina law requires an 811 locate before we dig post holes), and we talk about HOA rules if your property is in a master-planned community. We give you a straightforward estimate with no surprises.
Once you're ready, our crew shows up and does the work. For wood and vinyl privacy fencing, we set posts in concrete, space them right, and build the fence to stay plumb on level ground or properly racked on slopes. For chain link, we tension the fabric correctly and brace against sag. For gates, we hang them true, set the hinges right, and make sure they close smooth. We work around your schedule and the local weather. In Raleigh, that means we can work most of the winter, but spring and early summer are peak season.
When the job is done, we clean up. You get a walkthrough, we answer your questions, and we leave your property the way we found it except for the new fence or gate.
Pricing depends on what you're building and what the ground demands. Wood privacy fencing runs from $25 per linear foot. Vinyl and PVC start at $36 per foot. Chain link is our most affordable option at $15 per foot. Ornamental aluminum and iron run from $40 per foot. Pool fencing starts at $32 per foot. Farm and ranch fencing, which often uses simpler materials, starts at $11 per foot. A new gate installation runs from $465, and automatic driveway gates start at $2,800. If you're repairing instead of replacing, fence repair starts at $440, post repair and replacement at $440, and fence staining and restoration at $920. Storm damage assessment is free. The actual cost depends on the length of fence, the material you choose, the condition of the ground, whether posts need to be reset or replaced, and whether your property sits in an HOA that governs design. Call us at (919) 873-3812 for a free estimate. We'll walk your property, understand what you need, and give you a real number.
